I found an old stack of Surfer magazines and rather than throw them away, I thought I would collage them into an art project called “Surfer Recycled.” I had just seen an art show at the SFMOMA on Romare Beardon, a collage artist, and it was amazing. If you haven’t heard of him, I strongly suggest you google him and check out his work. This project was inspired by him. It was painstaking and smelly, using all of that adhesive. The project is on going forever, because I love it.
